The Memorial Society of British Columbia is the only member-based, volunteer driven memorial society in British Columbia.
The Memorial Society has negotiated lower, maximum prices for its members with selected funeral services providers. The pricing for paperwork and transfer of body as well as preparation is based on seven typical packages. Designated funeral homes and the prices which they charge to members of the Society may vary from time to time. Be sure to call the Society at 1-888-816-5902 for the latest information.
- When a death occurs the first step is to arrange to have the body transferred from the place of death to a designated funeral provider. Your first call to the Memorial Society of British Columbia will get you started in the right direction.
- A funeral provider will take some information about the deceased from you. Next, the provider will do all the paper work and secure all permits to transfer the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home.
- If you already haven’t done so, then you will meet with a licensed funeral director to make arrangements for the disposition of the body and related details. The funeral Director can make home arrangements as well. Also all the paper work can also be done online which will simplify the process.
Preferred pricing for members is offered at all designated funeral homes.
Prices may vary within service areas.
At time of death, simply call one number for referral to the nearest designated funeral provider. Providers do change from time to time, it is important to contact us at time of need.
